Prague is the city of Golem and Kafka. A place filled with dark, winding side streets, ancient cemeteries and gothic spires. I’ve been going there since I can remember but the place still retains an air of mystery and an enchanting gloom.
It is also, however, a city of vibrant art and culture, where stunning examples of Art Nouveau of Baroque design wait around almost ever corner. That’s what inspired this photo. While there visiting my mother, she and I went to an exhibtion about the history of Baroque art and architecture in Prague and when we got home, my eyes kept gravitating towards the roses and the carpet until I put them together and composed this shot. There was Mozart playing in the background.
